Psychological and Educational Assessment
Assessment Center for Learning and Development offers a variety of services for evaluating and treating children and adults with Psychological and Educational issues.
These services include the following:
- Full range of psychiatric services including medication evaluations, treatment of attention and emotional disorders, and ongoing monitoring of medication benefits
- In-depth Psycho-educational/Neuropsychological evaluations for children and adults
- Computerized assessment using psychological tests designed specifically for the assessment of sustained attention and impulse control
- Consultation with schools including principals, teachers, and special education programs to assist with planning and evaluation of interventions
- Parent training in behavior management to increase cooperation and compliance, decrease aggression and other negative behaviors, and improve the overall relationship between child and parent
- Individual and family counseling to assist with communication skills, conflict resolution, sibling issues and self-esteem
- Child and adolescent group counseling to develop strategies to cope with ADHD symptoms affecting school/work performance and personal relationships
- Child and adolescent group counseling to enhance social skills, anger control, and peer relationships
- Educational services including tutoring, study skills training, enhancement of organizational and problem solving strategies, and time management
