Finding a therapist can be a daunting process at a time when you may already feel overwhelmed. I understand this reality and hope to make the process as smooth as possible for you. I may be the the right therapist for you, but if I am not, I will try to direct you to someone who matches your needs. My therapy practice includes individual counseling with children, adolescents and adults, as well as families and couples. I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of problems related to stress, anxiety, panic, depression, adjustment issues, grief and loss, relationship problems and aging concerns. I am fully dedicated to establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship and providing a safe atmosphere for my clients. I view psychotherapy as a collaborative and interactive effort between myself and those I see in treatment. This means that I am actively engaged in the process and I work together with my clients toward achieving goals and improving their sense of well-being. My approach to therapy is goal-oriented and symptom focused. I work with clients to help them learn new and more effective coping skills as well as implement strategies to better manage their challenges. It is my hope to encourage clients to discover new insights about themselves, improve their self-esteem and increase their ability to communicate more effectively. In my work with clients, I generally use cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) techniques, while I also draw upon insight oriented approaches to treatment. I believe that people have an extraordinary capacity for growth and positive change. I welcome the opportunity to guide others toward improving their emotional functioning and enhancing the quality of their lives. If you are considering making an appointment, or have questions for me about the process, I invite you to call me so that we can speak directly.
