Kate O’Mahony, LPC
I offer a direct and genuine approach in a supportive environment to help people identify their dysfunctional patterns of behaviors that contribute to the difficulties in our lives. I am dedicated to providing the most effective therapeutic services in a safe, caring and empathetic environment. I believe that while an understanding of the past is essential, positive change occurs in the present. I like to help clients gain a greater sense of self control over their difficult thoughts and feelings while promoting flexibility in how clients respond to obstacles in their lives. I work from the premise “we think how we feel” to help clients achieve their healthiest function.
I specialize in low self esteem, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress, personal issues, and anger management (no court cases). I provide services for adults , adolescents, children (7+) and couples . I look forward to working with you.
Education and Experience
I have practice in various mental health facilities as a clinician and supervisor and have been in private practice for 11 years . I hold a Masters Degree in Applied Clinical Psychology and a Post Master Certificate in Advanced Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute in NYC.
