Finding the right therapist can be daunting and I welcome any questions you may have prior to scheduling an appointment. My first priority is to build a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, heard, accepted, and empowered. The main request I ask of my clients is that they come willing to get curious about their thoughts and behaviors. This curiosity in a supportive environ-ment create a strong foundation for personal growth. From there I draw upon different treatment modalities including including ACT (Acceptance & Commitment therapy), mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and motivational interviewing.
My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, aging, stress management, grief and loss, self esteem, binge eating disorder, relationship issues, chronic health conditions, caregiving stress, and chronic pain.
I also enjoy educating professionals and members of the community about various topics includ-ing mental health, effective communication, motivational interviewing, healthy aging, end-of-life issues, and management of chronic health conditions.
Education and Experience
I received my master’s degree in social work from Florida Atlantic University in 2006. My expe-rience includes private practice with individuals, group facilitation, development of a successful geriatric outreach program, and supporting patients and caregivers coping with chronic health conditions as well as end-of-life issues.
