General Information

Cherokee Counseling and Psychological Associates is a private counseling center serving North Metro Atlanta and NW Georgia. Founded in the late 1980's we have since grown with the community to a large diversified group (see our staff list for further description). We are located at 8910 Main St. in historic Woodstock, formerly the old post office.

We offer services for clients at ages throughout the life span, addressing a broad range of medical and psychological issues. Or staff includes psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, and a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist. We offer different approaches to life's many facets, but philosophically, we are all deeply committed to helping people change themselves and/or their lives in ways that are beneficial to them. We pride ourselves on honoring the privacy and confidentiality of our clients and adhere to all Georgia State laws governing the practice of psychology and psychiatry. We know that change requires work on both the client's and the therapist's part. This is often a difficult, but ultimately a rewarding process. Our belief in the value of change and personal growth is why we have all remained deeply committed to the field. We provide a comfortable and safe place for individuals, families and couples to improve the quality of their lives.

We are a group of highly trained and experienced clinicians. Between us we bring a total of over 130 years experience averaging in excess of 13 years of mental health service each. This represents service to more than 25,000 different people. The staff and clinicians at Cherokee Counseling are all warm, ethical and deeply respectful of people and what it takes to make life-altering changes.
